The policy document has
been approved by His Excellency President year 2010.
National
Development of TVET Policy Framework of Sri Lanka
The Technical and Vocational Education
and Training (TVET) policy framework which was developed by
the TVEC for the TVET sector of the country was forwarded to
His Excellency the President for approval and then HE the
President approved the policy framework. The underlying
purpose of the TVET policy framework is to ensure a quality
TVET provision throughout the country for meeting the local
and international skills demand. It was compiled taking into
consideration the socio-economic development objectives of
the country.
Development of TVET Policy, Strategy and Action Plans
for Vulnerable Groups of Sri Lanka
Another policy guideline on promoting
training for vulnerable people which is complementary to the
TVET policy framework was developed and approved in 2010.
These policies are adopted with effect from the year 2010.
Providing financial assistance to training institutions that
deliver training for vulnerable people has been streamlined
as per the policies of this policy guideline.
