Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission


	Policy on the Registration Strictly to adhere to the registration process defined by the Tertiary and Vocational Education Act, No. 20 of 1990, subsequent amendments to the act and gazette notifications. Ensure that no person shall, establish, manage, run or control any institute for the provision of Tertiary Education and Vocational Education, or Tertiary and Vocational Education Commission Act, No. 20 of 1990. Implement the classification identified by the development planes specified in the “Gazette of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka No. 887/8 – Thursday, September 07, 1995”, on the categories of persons and establishments providing tertiary education and vocational education or tertiary education or vocational education as the case may be, for the purpose of registration.		Process all applications for the registration and submit a report with a recommendation to the Commission from the Director General for review and approval based on followings The suitability of the institute including the facilities available, and the adequacy of the staff of the institute. The training institute ability to adequately provide tertiary education and vocational education or tertiary education or vocational education The training institutions conformity with the development planes. About Registration Procedure....... Obtain approval of applications from the Commission. The director general shall register such institute, under such name and style specified by the commission. The director general shall periodically publish in the Gazette, the list of the institutes registered and other particulars related to those institute as prescribed. Periodically review the process of the registered institutions and re-register an institution prior to the expiry of the registration. Ensure the training provider has established a “Quality Management System” acceptable to the TVEC.
